With over 20 years experience in the hospitality industry and having attained the position of General Manager by the age of 30, Gary Berman, Managing Director of Ubid4rooms.com, had reached a point in his career where he needed fresh challenges and a renewed passion for what he was doing..

After considering different projects, Gary came up with one simple idea based on the philosphy he used while managing hotels. There were often times when rooms were vacant. Guests were being turned away when making enquiries,  both at the front desk and on the phone, due to rates not being acceptable. It did not make sense to see business turned away based solely on the refusal  of the rigid rate being quoted.

A room vacant for a night is revenue lost forever, and a property only has a limited supply so this revenue cannot be made up in the future. The cost of selling a room varies from property to property, but many costs involved in selling a room are fixed. e.g. a property will still need two front office staff, one manager, one housekeeper etc. whether it sells 50 rooms per night or 100 rooms per night.

It therefore made sense that to sell a room at a controlled discount was superior to leaving the room vacant and hence the concept of Ubid4rooms.com came about.

The process from business planning for the site , commissioning a web designer and the development of the site took over a year  with Gary  overseeing every step of the process. By using his experience, both in hotel management and as a customer, having used many online accommodation sites himself, the final result achieves exactly what he started out to do.

Ubid4rooms.com has office premises on the NSW Central Coast and has a strong team on board to ensure not only online goals are achieved, but that the company is available through a toll-free number to answer any queries that might arise from both suppliers and  consumers.
